They are the hottest thing in the toy universe right now and the toystore cannot keep them on the shelves. They are pretty neat as they go around her wrist and when she takes them off they turn back into the item. Again, she LOVES them so therefore I buy them.

A hit with the young girls
Vendor: We purchased our Silly Bandz on Amazon via a vendor named "Island in the Sun".

Scent: The product arrived in a timely fashion & did not have an odd scent as one of the reviewers noted below. I think this must vary from vendor to vendor, depending on where the items are stored.

Actual bands: These are a real hit with the girls & are very cute. I do want to mention that I tried two of the wands on and one of them broke. So it made me think that perhaps it was a little more flimsy than most.

I do have thick wrists so the younger girls shouldn't have any problems. I like to test the sizes to be certain they can be worn comfortably even by young children with thicker wrists.

They did not work as companies did not want to spend that much on rubber bands. They were then made larger to fit as bracelets and re-branded as Silly Bandz by Robert Croak. The toys are sold in packs of 24 for about $4.95.A number of competing manufacturers make the product. BCP Imports, located in Toledo, Ohio, supplies Silly Bandz as well as the Livestrong wristbands.

Distribution and reception
Silly Bandz were first sold on-line in November 2008 then gained popularity in Birmingham, Alabama stores in the fall of 2009 and were widespread across the south by October 2009. They then moved up the east coast of the United States, reaching New Jersey, Long Island, and Staten Island in November the same year. As of April 2010, Sillybandz sold the bracelets to 8,000 stores across the U.S., and seven spots on Amazon's April 22 list of best-selling toys and games were occupied by the bracelets.

One parent attributed the toy's success to being easily lost and broken, and said that, "If your friend has the princess kind, then you have to have the princess kind, too."Seth McGowan, a toy industry analyst for Needham & Company, said it is refreshing that the "lowest of technologies" is appealing to children. Silly Bandz have been banned in many classrooms for being too distracting.

girls love them!  
I will never understand the facination with these things but my kids love them. being able to see the shape for what it is is working their imagination. Before we bought these my 6 year old was getting them as bargaining tools...She had beef jerky other kids had Silly Bandz...She would trade her food to get them. Its OK  
Silly Bandz are all the rage now. However Im 19 & I have a few I dont really wear them. I do every now & then but they kind of came & went with me. Theyre not that durable & you cant wear too many on your wrist at once or else they cut circulation. Theyre great for kids but not so much for older teenagers. I wanted some so bad but then when I got them I didnt really notice what all the hype was about (although I like the "Fantasy Pack" that Silly Bandz has to offer). & on top of it all you can go to a 5 Below & get them about $2-$3 cheaper than on Amazon. : 2010-09-18 16:15:37

The name of the product really says it all - these are silly which is precisely the reason why children seem to love them so much.

If you are not familiar with these they are a very popular item right now and are basically rubber bands that come in a variety of different shapes such as the Princess Pack (magic wand castle crown and other things you think of when you hear princess.) They are worn as bracelets a hair tie or even can be used just as a rubber band.
